This is my great grandmother, Alice. She’s sitting at her daughter, Sally, & Sally’s husband, Ernie Winter’s home in Kelowna, B.C. She was a wonder! In her younger year’s, she lived on a tugboat in Vancouver and was known as Tugboat Annie! I think she was married a number of times but I only met her last husband, Hadden, whom she lived with on Texada Island. Afteri his passing, she moved to Kelowna and that’s when I got to know her the best. She loved music & played her accordian in a band with her son Don, until late in her life. Her free spirit, love of life, adventure & people, blessed her with a long life. She loved to have her nip of cherry brandy at the end of the day and was really ticked off when she had to end her days in a care facility. Not at all to her liking! I’m sure I can find some pictures with her in them – of my own.
